Convoy Aid Romania

The poverty in Romania is unbelievable; & many families just cannot afford to feed their children, so they have no choice but to send their children to the orphanages. The conditions in these places are often worse than the family homes & children often die of malnutrition, starvation or medical conditions that are too expensive to be treated. Some orphanages are better than others; some are filled wall to wall with cots that babies & toddlers stay in all day, every day. Because of this, many children grow up deformed - not to mention the psychological problems that they grow up with. For £1.00 per week a Godparent can sponsor a child to enable their parents to keep their precious children at home & not send them to the orphanages.

I sponsor a little girl called Alexandra, who lives in Romania with her three sisters, mother & father. They live in a tiny, run down mud house with two rooms & a passageway. The Cojocaru family live on £7.00 per week & don't have any running water in their house or yard.The closest source of water is a well whichis 50 metres away. There are no jobs in their village, so her parents make a living working day by day however they can.

Helping my Godchild has enriched my life. Romanian people are an inspiration to us all. They have so little yet they seem to have so much love within their families. I'm embarrassed to say that i often spend a number of pounds per week on 'rubbish' such as chocolate and magazines, so what is a pound to me? I now feel like I have another purpose in life thanks to Convoy Aid. I receive letters, photos, videos & regular news of my Godchild's progress. If I can do one good thing from my success as a model, then I feel it's my duty to spread the word.

Women's Aid

Most of us know somebody who's life has been touched with Domestic Violence & this charity is one that is very close to my heart. Women's Aid have helped save many lives of women & children in the UK & are continually fighting for the government to recognise domestic violence as the terrible crime that it is. Greyhound Rescue

For the past two years i have been privileged to work with Stuart & Jenny Stott, who run a Greyhound & Lurcher rescue charity. They are a lovely, selfless couple who take in abandoned & neglected racing dogs, nurture them back to health & rehome them. Stuart & Jenny campaign relentlessly to prevent the mistreatment of dogs used for racing & annually publish a calendar called 'Long Legged Beauties'. The calendars are packed with humourous photos of dogs & beautiful models, with fascinating facts about greyhounds.
